Area of Research I am looking into various nutraceutical potential of flowers. Edible flowers are good source of nutritional and phytochemical compounds. Utilization of edible blossoms to develop functional foods is increasing day by day in global food and pharma industry which has opened immense opportunity for the rise of edible flower market. Hence edible flowers will open new possibilities in alleviation of malnutrition, diversification of agriculture, alternative source of income as well as rescue of wild edible flower species threatened by anthropogenic activities. I am also involved in production and improvement of flowers for commercial traits. Through my work, farmers will be promoted and training will be imparted to cultivate ornamental plants for commercial value as well as for industrial value (Food and nutraceutical industry). It will be helpful in enhancing farmer’s socio economic status.
